Apply for a disabled person's bus pass
Your National Entitlement Card (NEC) will be your bus pass. You can apply:
- online – in all areas of Scotland
- through Strathclyde Partnership for Transport (SPT) – if you live in one of the 12 local councils in the Glasgow and Strathclyde area
- through your local council – if you live outside the Glasgow and Strathclyde area

Apply for a disabled person's bus pass online at getyournec.scot.
This service is available in all areas of Scotland.
Apply through Strathclyde Partnership for Transport (SPT)
SPT manages bus pass applications for 12 local councils in the Glasgow and Strathclyde area.
You can apply through SPT if you live in:
- Argyll and Bute
- East Ayrshire
- East Dunbartonshire
- East Renfrewshire
- Glasgow City
- Inverclyde
- North Ayrshire
- North Lanarkshire
- Renfrewshire
- South Ayrshire
- South Lanarkshire
- West Dunbartonshire
You can apply by:
- post
- in person – you’ll need to make an appointment first

Apply through your local council
If you live outside the Glasgow and Strathclyde area and cannot or do not want to apply online, you can apply through your local council.
How you can apply and how long it will take depends on each council. Your council will tell you the best way to apply in your area.
What you need to apply
You'll need:
- a recent photo
- proof of your current address
- proof of disability
- proof of eligibility for a companion – if you need to travel with a companion

If you’re applying online, you’ll also need:
- a laptop, tablet, phone or other device with a camera
- a myaccount – you can register if you do not already have one
- proof of identity
