Who can get a disabled person's bus pass

You can get a free bus pass if you’re disabled, live in Scotland and meet the eligibility criteria. You can also get free travel for a companion if you qualify for it.

Find out if you’re eligible on the Transport Scotland website.

If you're disabled and over 60

You can choose between the disabled person's bus pass and the older person's bus pass.

A disabled person's bus pass is usually valid for up to 3 years. An older person’s bus pass does not expire.

If you need free travel for a companion, you can only get this with a disabled person’s bus pass.

If you're disabled and under 22

You can choose between the disabled person's bus pass and the under 22s bus pass.

A disabled person's bus pass is usually valid for up to 3 years. An under 22s bus pass is valid until you turn 22.

If you need free travel for a companion, you can only get this with a disabled person’s bus pass.
