Start a PVG application for a worker or volunteer

Your workers or volunteers may qualify for the PVG scheme if they're doing regulated work with children or protected adults.

A PVG application allows you to view their criminal history information and check they're not barred from regulated work.

Warning

You need to start their PVG application. The person you're working with cannot apply until you start it.

How to apply

1. Register your organisation

Make sure your organisation is registered with Disclosure ScotlandIf you're registered then Disclosure Scotland will have sent you an email with a unique link.

This link allows you to create a ScotAccount and access your organisation account

When creating a ScotAccount you must use the unique link that Disclosure Scotland sent you.

ScotAccount is a digital identity service developed by the Scottish Government. It allows you to sign in to public services securely.

2. Check what type of PVG application you need

There are different application types depending on the work your applicant is doing and whether they're a PVG scheme member.

There's information to help you choose the right application.

3. Start the application

Once you create a ScotAccount using your unique link, you can sign in and start a PVG application in your organisation account.
