Complete a PVG application you have been sent
If you're going to do regulated work, the organisation you're working with may ask you to join the PVG scheme.
If you’re already a PVG scheme member, you may need to apply to keep your membership up to date.
The organisation you're working with needs to start the application. You cannot apply until the organisation starts it.
How to apply
1. Check your emails for an application link
Once your organisation completes the first part of the application, you'll get an email with a link to complete the rest of the application.
2. Sign in to your Disclosure Scotland account
When you select the link you’ll be asked to sign in through ScotAccount.
If you do not have a ScotAccount you’ll need to create one using the unique link in the email. This allows you to access Disclosure Scotland services.
ScotAccount is a digital identity service developed by the Scottish Government. It allows you to sign in to public services securely.
3. Complete the application
Once you access your Disclosure Scotland account you need to complete your application. You have 14 days to complete it, starting from when you were sent the application link.
4. Check the result
Disclosure Scotland aims to process applications within 14 days. You can check the progress of your application in your account.
You’ll get an email once it’s processed and you can sign in to check the result.
