If your needs change

What to do if something changes during your move

You need to report any changes to the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP).
This includes changes to your:

  • needs

  • health

  • disability

  • condition

  • personal details, like your address or bank account

To report any of these changes during the move, contact the DWP's Disability Service Centre.

Fill in a change of circumstances form

If you reported a change that triggered your benefit move to Scotland, Social Security Scotland will ask you to fill in an ‘Adult Disability Payment Change of Circumstances’ form. You’ll get this form in the post with a letter confirming that your move has started.

If you’ve already completed this form, you do not need to do anything.

If you’ve lost the form or did not receive one, Social Security Scotland can send you another. You can also get help to fill in the form from Social Security Scotland and other support organisations.

Once they receive your completed form, Social Security Scotland will send you an acknowledgement letter. After the move is complete, they will then start the process of reviewing your award to make sure it meets your current needs.

What happens after your move

After your move to Adult Disability Payment is complete, you should tell Social Security Scotland about any changes. This includes changes to your:

  • disability
  • condition
  • care arrangements
  • personal and contact details

You can read more about the types of changes you should tell Social Security Scotland about.
