About the Scottish Broadband Voucher Scheme

You might be able to get a voucher worth up to £5,000 to help pay for the installation of a faster broadband connection.

Your property or business could be eligible if both:

  • its current broadband speed is less than 30 Megabits per second (Mbps)
  • there are no plans for a faster connection through government programmes or commercial build

Enter your postcode in the checker to find out if your home or business is eligible. If it is, you can find out how to apply for your voucher and what to do if a supplier contacts you.

What the voucher covers

In most cases, the voucher will cover the total cost of installing your connection. This includes any equipment that brings broadband to your property, for example:

  • new fibre connections
  • satellite dishes
  • outdoor mobile antennas
  • broadband routers

You should talk to your supplier about the chance of any extra costs.

The voucher will not cover your monthly broadband service charges.

Signing a contract

The supplier who installed your connection will also supply your broadband service for a minimum of one year. You must sign a contract agreeing to this.

If you want to end the contract in the first year, you might have to pay a fee to your supplier and repay the value of the voucher.
