Keeping Social Security Scotland up to date

Social Security Scotland need to know about changes so they can:

  • make sure you’re paid the right amount
  • contact you about your Pension Age Disability Payment

Find out more about the types of changes that Social Security Scotland need to know about.

You need to tell Social Security Scotland about changes if:

  • you’re already receiving Pension Age Disability Payment
  • you have applied for Pension Age Disability Payment, but have not had a decision yet
  • you have moved from Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) Attendance Allowance to Pension Age Disability Payment

It’s important that you tell Social Security Scotland about any changes so they can make sure you continue to get the right rate of payment for your needs.

If you do not tell Social Security Scotland about a change that could affect your award, you may be committing an offence under section 72 of the Social Security (Scotland) Act 2018

Moving from Attendance Allowance (AA) to Pension Age Disability Payment

Depending on when the change happens, you’ll need to contact either DWP or Social Security Scotland. 

If something changes during the move

If something changes before your AA finishes, call DWP free on 0800 731 0122. 

If something changes after the move

If something changes after your Pension Age Disability Payment has started, you’ll need to tell Social Security Scotland about the change
