Update an EPC

An EPC lasts for up to 10 years. A new EPC replaces any older EPCs.

When it runs out you need to update an EPC to sell or rent a property.

Updating an EPC means getting a new one. You need to find a member of an ‘approved organisation’ to do this.

Find an EPC assessor on the Scottish EPC register website.

If you make changes to a property you should update the EPC as it could affect its rating.

Cost to update an EPC

The cost of an EPC depends on the property. You should check this with the assessor when you contact them.

You may want to get different quotes to get the best price.
