If you do not receive your disclosure certificate
If you apply for a disclosure and your certificate does not arrive, you can ask for it to be reprinted and sent to you again.
A reprinted certificate shows the date it was originally printed, not the reprint date.
Employers or registered organisations can only ask for a copy of an employee's certificate if it's for the PVG scheme or a standard or enhanced disclosure.
When you can ask for a reprint of your certificate
You must wait for 10 days before you can ask for a reprint.
You can only apply for a reprinted certificate within 84 days of the original print date. If you need a copy of your certificate after this time, you'll need to make a new disclosure application.
How to get a reprint of your certificate
To ask for a reprint, contact Disclosure Scotland and tell them:
- you have not received your certificate
- the delivery address for the certificate
PVG membership number
If you cannot find your certificate and you need your PVG membership number or disclosure number, you can contact Disclosure Scotland to get this.

How to send your certificate to a different address
If you want a certificate sent to a different address to the one shown on your certificate, ask Disclosure Scotland for this in writing. You must:
- include a copy of a proof of address from the different address
- have the request signed by the disclosure applicant if you're not making the request for yourself
How long it takes
Disclosure Scotland aim to send out certificate reprints by post within 2 days of receiving the request, but they do not guarantee this.
