What about Clearing?

Clearing is the system universities and colleges use to fill empty spaces on courses.

Clearing runs from July to September. This is after the June guarantee date for applying to the Students Awards Agency Scotland (SAAS) to make sure you have funding in place for the start of your course.

If you're going through Clearing, you may or may not have applied for student funding already.

If you've already applied

You may have already applied for funding – perhaps for a course you did not get into. You need to update your application details by signing in to your SAAS online account. This should stop your funding from being delayed.

If you've not applied yet

You may not have applied for funding yet so your funding is likely to be delayed. Apply as soon as you can.
