Apply for a self-supply water licence

In Scotland, all public sector, non-profit and business customers are allowed to apply for a self-supply water licence.

Usually you get your water from a supplier, and pay them for water and sewerage as well as other services (like meter reading and leak detection).

With a self-supply licence, you:

  • buy your water directly from Scottish Water
  • are responsible for any services a supplier would usually carry out

Visit the Water Industry Commission for Scotland website for more information on self-supply licences, and how to apply.
