Scottish Sentencing Council
The Scottish Sentencing Council promotes consistency in sentencing, assists in the development of sentencing policy and promotes greater awareness and understanding of sentencing policy and practice.
The work they do includes:
- preparing sentencing guidelines
- publishing guideline judgments
- publishing information about sentences
They also conduct research and provide general guidance about sentencing.
