Scottish Information Commissioner

The Scottish Information Commissioner promotes and enforces Scotland's freedom of information (FOI) law. This includes:

  • investigating FOI appeals
  • promoting the public's right to ask for information held by Scottish public authorities
  • promoting good FOI practice to public authorities
  • intervening when public authorities do not follow FOI law
