Tell your family

You should tell your family that you want to be an organ and tissue donor. Knowing this makes it easier for them to respect your wishes.

Organs and tissue you can donate

You have the choice to donate all or some or your organs. The most commonly donated organs and tissue are:

• heart (including heart valves)
• lungs
• liver (including liver hepatocyte cells)
• kidneys
• pancreas (including pancreatic islets)
• small bowel
• tendons
• parts of the eye, such as the cornea
• patches of skin
