Do I need to prove my identity to vote?
ID is not required in order to vote at polling stations in Scottish Parliament and local government elections.
You do need to show photo ID to vote at polling stations in UK Parliament elections.
There is a list of accepted forms of photo ID. Your ID must be the original version and not an image on a phone. A photograph or a photocopy will not be accepted.
If you do not have an accepted form of ID, you can apply for free voter ID.
