Building Scotland Fund
The Building Scotland Fund is a £150 million fund which helps to:
- develop new affordable and private sector housing
- develop modern industrial and commercial spaces
- support industry-led research and development
You can get a loan (that you'll need to pay back) or equity finance. You'll be charged a commercial rate of interest on anything you borrow, or a rate that complies with State Aid regulations.
This funding is normally for projects that need over £1 million, though you can sometimes get funding for less than this amount. The specific amount of funding you can get will vary depending on the project.
The funding cannot cover the entire cost of a project, and applicants still need to find some of the money themselves.
Who can apply
The fund is open to non-public sector organisations, such as:
- businesses
- housing associations
- universities
